Treasurer – Board of Directors
The Treasurer will be a key member of the Board of Directors at DIVD.fund, responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial management and ensuring that financial practices align with best standards. The Treasurer will work closely with the Executive Director and the finance team, providing insight and guidance to ensure that DIVD.fund remains fiscally responsible and can effectively fund and support its mission-driven programs.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Governance
- Oversee and ensure the integrity of the organization’s financial operations, including reviewing financial statements, budgets, and long-term financial planning.
- Work with the CEO and finance team to ensure that the organization’s financial resources are managed in accordance with DIVD.fund’s mission and strategic goals.
- Ensure that proper internal controls and financial policies are in place to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead the development of the organization’s annual budget in collaboration with the CEO and staff.
- Ensure that the budget aligns with the organization’s goals and funding priorities, and help make financial decisions that support long-term sustainability.
- Provide financial guidance to ensure appropriate resource allocation and cost management across various programs and initiatives.
Fundraising & Financial Strategy
- Support the Board and staff in identifying and executing strategies to secure financial support for DIVD.fund’s programs and initiatives.
- Advise on the organization’s fundraising goals, strategies, and methods, including donor relations and financial stewardship.
- Participate in high-level discussions with stakeholders and donors regarding financial strategy and funding priorities.
Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure that the organization complies with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
- Review and approve financial reports to be presented to the Board and external stakeholders, ensuring they are accurate and transparent.
- Oversee the audit process and provide recommendations for improving financial processes and systems.
Board Collaboration & Support
- Provide financial insights and recommendations during Board meetings to guide decision-making.
- Collaborate with fellow Board members to ensure strong governance practices and the effective execution of DIVD.fund’s mission.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on financial matters, helping to inform organizational strategy and long-term planning.
Qualifications
- Experience: Significant experience in financial management, including nonprofit financial oversight, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial regulations, nonprofit accounting practices, and financial reporting standards.
- Leadership: Proven ability to provide leadership and sound financial advice in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Passion for the Mission: A deep commitment to DIVD.fund’s mission of securing the digital world and promoting safer online environments.
- Board Experience: Previous experience as a Board member or in a governance role is a plus.
